Dissolved Austria Hungary, recognizing Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Hungary, and Polish and Romanian gains. Austria was forbidden union, Anschluss, with Germany, rump Austria went from empire to alpine republic of 6 million. The treaty created the minority problems and economic fragmentation that plagued Central Europe between the wars. Hitler 1938 Anschluss violated it directly.
