About the Munich Agreement

Chamberlain and Daladier conceded the Czechoslovak Sudetenland to Hitler without Czech representation, peace for our time. Britain rearmed during the grace period, but the surrender of Czech defenses and industry massively strengthened Germany. Six months later Hitler took the rest of Czechia, and the guarantee to Poland set the war line. Munich became the permanent synonym for appeasement failure, invoked before every intervention debate since.
