About the Locarno Treaties

Guaranteed Germany western borders with France and Belgium, Britain and Italy as guarantors, but left eastern borders open to revision. Spirit of Locarno brought Germany into the League and Nobel Prizes for Stresemann and Briand. The eastern omission invited later revisionism, Poland and Czechoslovakia felt betrayed. The spirit died with the Depression, the letters remained technically until Hitler tore them up.
